Details: The talks were reportedly requested by Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin
Particularly, the media outlet reports that during a meeting of NATO defence ministers in Brussels, Austin asked Gallant if he would talk to his Ukrainian counterpart and whether he would do more to help Ukraine.
Meanwhile, as Israeli officials said, Gallant told Austin that Israel would not provide Ukraine with lethal weapons.
This will be the first telephone conversation between Reznikov and Gallant since the Israeli minister took office more than five months ago.
The Israeli government has been taking a cautious approach to the war in Ukraine, hoping not to create tensions with Russia or harm Israel's security interests in Syria. However, the Pentagon insists that Israel should provide more support to Ukraine.
An unnamed Ukrainian official also confirmed the plans to hold a conversation between Reznikov and Gallant.
