Ukrainian government prepares draft law on new status of English and will facilitate studying it

The Ukrainian government is preparing a draft law on the recognition of English as the language of international communication and is working on a solution to increase the accessibility of learning this language.

Details: Shmyhal said that he held a meeting focused on the role of the English language with the participation of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

Quote: "We are preparing a draft law that, in particular, will establish English as the language of international communication. At the same time, we develop solutions that will make learning English more accessible to all those willing to do so."

More details: According to Shmyhal, a large-scale project of Ukraine’s restoration will take place after the victory; the government expects a number of foreign companies and investors who will develop their business and create jobs to come here.

"The English language opens up wide access to knowledge, labour market, information and culture features, and higher wages. Ukrainians should also receive these advantages, which will help to establish Ukraine as a regional leader," he noted.
