Quote from Jasina: "We intend to sign an updated basic agreement as soon as both sides have completed work on its content. We aim for this to happen later this year."
Jasina pointed out that the Polish side seeks to conclude a far-reaching agreement that "will turn our relations into truly strategic ones, deepen our partnership not only at the level of states but also at the level of societies, and open the door to the development of both economies."
Background: During Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that Kyiv and Warsaw are working on a new agreement on cooperation between the countries.
"We are currently working on a new agreement. We believe that we will soon be able to sign the agreement between our countries. We want to have two countries that cooperate well and that treat one another with respect and with brotherly and neighbourly love," he said.
Ukraine and Poland last concluded a good-neighbourly agreement in 1992.
