Russia takes offence at French ambassador for telling the truth about Bucha

Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the French chargé d'affaires, Jay Dharmadhikari, on Tuesday evening to protest about a statement made by the French embassy concerning the atrocities committed by Russian troops in Bucha.

This was reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry, European Pravda reports.

The reason for Moscow's protest to Dharmadhikari was the French embassy's social media posts referring to "atrocities committed by the Armed Forces of Russia in Bucha and other Ukrainian cities".

It should be noted that this was not a statement made by the embassy itself, but a repost from the French Foreign Ministry's Russian-language account. No other statements about the Russian troops' atrocities could be found on the diplomatic mission's social media in recent times.

The Russian Foreign Ministry made a protest to the French diplomat due to the "categorical inadmissibility of totally unfounded, false accusations against Russian servicemen", at the same time accusing Paris of providing military aid to Kyiv, which "is doing everything possible to prolong the hostilities".

The Russian ministry's statement also claims that there is still no evidence that Russia committed war crimes in Bucha, even though the names of the Russian soldiers involved were established during the year of the investigation.

Earlier on Sunday, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, said that the Bucha massacre was a deliberate crime committed by the Russian Federation. The British ambassador said that rape has become a weapon of the Russian army that has been used deliberately.
