Zelenskyy discusses sanctions and progress towards EU with European Commission President
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Tuesday.

Details: The President has expressed his gratitude to the president of the European Commission for her participation in the Bucha Summit and discussed future joint international events with her.
Moreover, they have touched upon other issues of support for Ukraine, including the need to prepare the 11th package of sanctions and progress in implementing the European Commission's recommendations.
Zelenskyy noted that he is in constant contact with Ursula von der Leyen.
Earlier on Tuesday, the European Commission said that von der Leyen would have a conversation with Zelenskyy before his visit to China.
Following the conversation, Ursula von der Leyen has said that Ukraine will be an important topic of her meetings with the Chinese leadership. "The EU wants a just peace that respects Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity," the EC President posted on Twitter.
Von der Leyen has recently noted that China's role in the war in Ukraine will be important for relations with the EU.
The European Commission will publish its assessment of Ukraine's progress towards the EU this autumn. An oral presentation of the assessment of seven candidate recommendations is expected in the spring.
