The meeting was held on Cathedral Square to honour the memory of victims of Russian violence in Bucha, Irpin, Borodianka and other cities in Ukraine. Zourabichvili said this meeting was unplanned, but she "just wanted to share this moment with the Ukrainians and convey the solidarity of the Georgian people".
"Lithuania is one of the countries that, like Ukraine and Georgia, knows what the experience of Russian occupation and aggression means. Many people in Europe repeat that you are fighting for our future and our freedom, but we know from our experience that you are fighting for our freedom and European future," the Georgian president said.
She expressed confidence that Georgia and Ukraine would be together in Europe.
"This will be due to the exceptionally courageous struggle of your soldiers and citizens, who carry out this outstanding resistance together. Glory to Ukraine!" said the president of Georgia during her speech, which was attended by Ukrainians.
Recently, Zourabichvili criticised the country's current government, noting that it speaks the same language as Moscow when opening the so-called "second front" against the Russian Federation.
Zourabichvili believes that the future diplomatic settlement of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine should also include the following issues: withdrawal of the Russian military from the occupied Georgian territories.
