We need time before counteroffensive begins, which is not far off – Commander of Ukrainian Ground Forces about Eastern front

Quote: "The real heroes now are the defenders who hold the eastern front on their shoulders and, sparing neither themselves nor their enemies, inflict maximum losses on them [Russians – ed.]. It is necessary to buy time to accumulate reserves and start a counteroffensive, which is not far off."
Details: It was noted that Syrskyi continues to work at the front line and is currently in its most important areas, together with his units. The Ukrainian military is giving a decent rebuff to the Russian forces and continues to hold the city of Bakhmut.
Forces and assets are involved in the defence of Bakhmut, which prevent the Russian forces from making their plan come true, break their plans and force them to refuse to advance, Ukraine’s Ground Forces said.
The command of the Ground Forces added that Syrskyi constantly monitors the operational situation at the front and takes the necessary measures to keep Bakhmut under Ukraine's control.
