Macron and Zelenskyy to travel together to EU summit in Brussels
After the evening meeting at the Élysée Palace on Thursday, 9 February, French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will travel together to the EU summit, which will be held today in Brussels.

According to a press release from the Élysée Palace, they will leave at 8:30 from the Vélizy-Villacoublay Air Base near Paris.
They are expected to arrive in Brussels at around 10:00.
Today, the Ukrainian leader is expected as the guest of honour at an EU summit, where he is expected to ask allies to provide Ukraine with fighter jets "as soon as possible", as he did in London and Paris on Wednesday, 8 February.
On Wednesday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy started an unexpected mini-tour across Europe, and it is his second trip abroad since the beginning of the war on 24 February 2022, following a trip to the United States in December.
Background: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak signed the UK–Ukraine Declaration of Unity (London Declaration) during Zelenskyy’s visit to the UK on Wednesday, 8 February. The declaration aims to deepen cooperation between Kyiv and London.
