"And I am pleased that today we have agreed that we will expand our training programme – a programme that has trained 10,000 troops in the last six months alone – to your marines and fighter jet pilots, ensuring the Armed Forces of Ukraine are able to defend their country for generations to come," Sunak said at a press conference with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Britain.
On Wednesday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the United Kingdom, which was his second foreign visit since the beginning of the full-scale war with Russia.
There he addressed the members of the British Parliament and met with King Charles III. In addition, Zelenskyy and Sunak arrived at a military base in Dorset in southern England to meet with Ukrainian military personnel trained by the British Army.
Following the visit, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak hinted that British Challenger 2 tanks will arrive in Ukraine as early as March 2023 and also announced the expansion of the training programme for Ukrainian military personnel.
