Details: Sweden will provide military equipment to Ukraine that the Swedish Armed Forces is able toi do without for some time. These are primarily anti-tank weapons, demining equipment, Robot 57 lightweight anti-tank weapons, and Swedishs CV 90 infantry fighting vehicles.
It is noted that these legislative changes to the budget will come into effect on 13 February.
Background: This military aid package was announced by the Swedish government in mid-January. This is the 10th military aid package that Sweden will provide to Ukraine.
This aid consists of three parts, one of which will be allocated for Ukraine’s acquisition of Archer self-propelled artillery systems, which require advanced training before delivery. Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson instructed the government to begin preparations for this.
Since February 2022, the total amount of assistance Sweden has allotted Ukraine, excluding this latest package, has exceeded €900 million, of which more than €570 million has been in military support.
