Details: The court found a 58-year-old resident of Kyiv guilty of high treason and sentenced him to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The prosecutor proved that after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the defendant created a Telegram channel, in which he had been sharing anti-Ukrainian text messages and articles.
Using the mentioned Telegram channel, the man passed information about the location of military equipment and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kyiv to a Russian handler.
The Prosecutor's Office emphasises that using the coordinates provided by the traitor, the Russians repeatedly fired at these units, killing two people and injuring four others.
In addition, the offender called for support for the Russian invaders via social media and justified their war crimes.
The man was detained in March 2022.
During searches in his apartment, law enforcement officers found electronic files with a list and coordinates of Ukrainian military facilities.
On 6 February 2023, the Solomianskyi District Court of Kyiv announced his sentence.
The defendant will remain in custody until the verdict takes effect.
