Russian Defence Minister announces creation of "satellite system" to support Russian troops

Sergei Shoigu, Russian Defence Minister, announced the creation of an all-weather Remote Sensing Satellite System to "improve the efficiency" of Russian troops.

Quote: "We will consider the issue of re-equipping the orbital grouping of military spacecraft. As part of solving this problem, a satellite system for all-weather remote sensing of the Earth is being developed and created.

The obtained data will contribute to improving the effectiveness of the use of troops."

Details: According to him, the reviewing of the progress of work development and setting deadlines for their implementation is planned. Details are not disclosed.
