Fragments of downed Shakhed drone found in Kyiv Oblast

Law enforcement officers have found fragments of an Iranian-made Shahed attack drone on the territory of one of the districts of Kyiv Oblast.

There were no casualties or damage to infrastructure facilities. Police officers and bomb disposal experts of Kyiv Oblast were working at the scene of the incident."

 

Details: It was reported that the law enforcement officers inspected the scene and recorded the results of the Russian attack.

 

Citizens are urged not to ignore air-raid sirens and, in case of a siren, immediately go to a shelter.

Background: Air-raid warnings were issued in the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, as well as in a number of other oblasts, on the late evening of Sunday, 26 February. Later, it became known that Russia attacked Ukraine with Shakhed drones from Bryansk Oblast, Russia.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Defence Forces of Ukraine shot down 11 Shahed Iranian-made kamikaze drones out of 14 launched on the night of 26 February. Nine drones were shot down in the airspace around Kyiv, reported Serhii Popko, Head of Kyiv City Military Administration.

Yurii Ihnat, spokesperson for the Air Force of Ukraine, explained why the occupiers are launching Shahed drones again.
