Details: "They checked the bus at the exit, checked all the belongings, inspected everything," a Belarusian who crossed the border with Lithuania on 27 February told Svaboda. "Usually border guards do not check personal belongings upon departure, only passports. Now look at this. I took my equipment with me, I was worried about it. Everything was inspected thoroughly. The bus driver said he had not seen anything like this for at least a year."

The man thinks there is a connection between the enhancement of the check-up and the incident in Machulishchy on 26 February. A few more people told Svaboda that border guards thoroughly inspect the belongings of those who leave Belarus for Poland and Lithuania. Since the morning of 27 February such procedures have been conducted at the Warsaw Bridge checkpoint at the Belarusian border with Poland.

The Border Guard Committee of Belarus does not comment on the enhancement. On 27 February in the afternoon, it was revealed that Alexander Lukashenko, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, met with the head of security forces and leadership of the Border Guard Committee of Belarus.
