Details: "This allocation of tickets will allow thousands of Ukrainians to attend the live shows and is another example of the UK’s unwavering support of Ukraine," the British government said in an official statement.
The British government has also announced £10 million in funding to host the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine and support Ukrainian culture and creativity.
The money will be used to support the partnership of Liverpool City Council and the BBC with Ukrainian artists and performers to create a joint show that will celebrate music and bring people together from all over the world.
Ukrainians who are in the UK through the Homes for Ukraine Scheme, the Ukraine Family Scheme and the Ukraine Extension Scheme will be able to apply for tickets to the Eurovision Song Contest. Tickets will be offered for all nine live broadcasts, including the semi-finals, pre-premiere shows and the final on Saturday, 13 May.
Background: The Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra won the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest. But because of the war in Ukraine, this year’s competition will be held not in Ukraine, but in the British city of Liverpool.
