"It seems to me that our document, our peace formula, which has already been supported by a large number of states and we expect that they will support it on the 23rd, when there will be a meeting of the UN and a vote on the corresponding resolution — I think it is important to have unified position", Zelenskyy said.
The president made this statement while commenting on China's "peace plan" to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war.
It should be noted that the official agenda of the UN General Assembly currently does not mention the vote on February 23. Instead, it is indicated that on the 22nd, a resolution in support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, which has been voted on since 2014, will be passed.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Ukraine will promote two resolutions of the UN General Assembly this year: one regarding the implementation of the peace formula, the other on holding Russia accountable for starting a war against Ukraine.
In his speech at the video conference for the leaders of the Group of Seven and Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed a 10-point peace formula, covering issues such as security, including food and energy security, as well as the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.
Later, he was supported by, among others, the United States, the European Union and Turkey, and the Ukrainian side spoke of its intention to hold an event dedicated to the peace formula on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion.
