Defence Forces repel Russian attacks in areas of 3 oblasts – General Staff report

The Ukrainian defenders repelled Russian attacks in the areas of 11 settlements in Kharkiv, Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts on 20 February.

Details: Over the last day, Russian forces carried out six missile strikes and 28 airstrikes on the civil infrastructure facilities in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts. They also deployed multiple-launch rocket systems to fire 86 times. Residential buildings, schools and shops were destroyed and damaged as a result of the shelling. There were casualties.

Over the past day, units of the Defence Forces have repelled Russian attacks in the areas of Hrianykivka and Masiutivka in Kharkiv Oblast; Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast; and Stelmakhivka, Chervonopopivka and Kreminna in Luhansk Oblast; and Vasiukivka, Berkhivka, Bakhmut, Vasylivka, Novobakhmutivka, Vodiane, Nevelske and Marinka in Donetsk Oblast.

In addition, during the day, the areas of Senkivka and Yeline in Chernihiv Oblast; Novoslobidske, Bilopillia, Yunakivka, Myropilske and Krasnopillia in Sumy Oblast; as well as more than 25 settlements in Kharkiv Oblast, including Strilecha, Krasne, Zelene, Ternova, Bochkove, Mala Vovcha, Ozerne, Hryhorivka, Dvorichna and Kupiansk, were attacked. In addition, Russian forces launched an airstrike on Hraniv village, Kharkiv Oblast, from the territory of the Russian Federation.

On the Kupiansk and Lyman fronts, Russian forces fired on Dvorichna, Hrianykivka, Pishchane, Krokhmalne and Pershotravneve in Kharkiv Oblast; Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka, Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast; and Dibrova, Fedorivka, Ivanivka, Kotliarivka in Donetsk Oblast. They conducted an airstrike in the areas of Bilohorivka and Spirne.

On the Bakhmut front, over 20 settlements were attacked, including Rozdolivka, Bilohorivka, Vasiukivka, Zaliznianske, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, New-York and Vesele in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk fronts, Russian forces fired artillery on over 30 settlements, including Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Bohoiavlenka, Vuhledar and Prechystivka in Donetsk Oblast. They also conducted airstrikes near Oleksandropol, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Marinka and Vuhledar.

Over 25 settlements on the Zaporizhzhia front were affected by Russian fire. This refers to Novoandriivka, Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk Oblast and Olhivske, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, Novodanylivka and Stepove in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

On the Kherson front, Russian artillery fire affected the areas of over 35 settlements, including Zolota Balka, Dudchany, Kachkarivka, Beryslav, Kozatske, Mykolaivka, Antonivka, Kherson, Dniprovske, Berehove and Veletenske in Kherson Oblast. 

The Air Force of the Defence Forces of Ukraine carried out 16 strikes on clusters of Russian military personnel and military equipment, as well as a strike on an anti-aircraft missile system position, during the last 24 hours.

Ukrainian defenders also shot down three Lantset UAVs.

Rocket Forces and Artillery units hit two positions of the air defence systems and a Russian cluster of multiple launch rocket systems.
