Director of International Monetary Fund Georgieva arrives in Kyiv

Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, arrived in Kyiv on Monday, 20 February.

Details: As sources state, the IMF head's visit to Kyiv is related to work on a new IMF program for Ukraine.

There is currently no official information regarding Georgieva's arrival in Kyiv.

Background: On Friday, 17 February, the Fund's mission to prepare for the revision of the monitoring program ended in Warsaw, as the Fund's representatives and the Ukrainian authorities reached an agreement at the staff level. The work on a new program is underway.

The International Monetary Fund will finalise a support program for Ukraine within a few weeks, and the plan must now be approved by the Fund's management.
