Belarus announces completion of tactical flight drills with Russia

The Belarusian Defence Ministry has announced the completion of joint tactical flight drills with Russia.

Quote: "The joint tactical flight drills of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation have been completed."

Details: Reportedly a "high level of coordination in the work of the headquarters" was demonstrated, as well as "confident joint actions" of Belarusian and Russian pilots.

The Belarusian Defence Ministry claims that the training had an exclusively defensive nature and was aimed at ensuring the security of the Russian Federation and Belarus.

Background: 

• An air raid siren had been repeatedly announced in Ukraine due to the takeoff of Russian fighter jets on the territory of Belarus. In particular, the siren was announced three times on 31 January.
• Ukraine’s Air Force explained that the takeoff of fighter jets in Belarus is, among other things, a method of psychological pressure.
