Quote: "It tells [us a story] about the war for independence, the Russian invasion, which Sean Penn himself met in Kyiv and saw with his own eyes the first day of the start of a full-scale war," Yermak wrote.
Details: Work on the film started even before the war, in early 2021. Sean Penn started filming a movie about Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who was an actor and a comedian before successfully running for presidency in Ukraine.
"In February 2022, when the Russian invasion began, Hollywood directors were in Kyiv. Therefore, the film based on several interviews will most likely demonstrate the difference between Zelenskyy as the president of a peaceful country and the president of a country in the midst of war," Ukrainian producer Nataliia Yakymovych believes.
"Superpower", Sean Penn's and Aaron Kaufman's film about 🇺🇦, premiered at the Berlin Film Festival. It's about our independence war. The Russian all-out invasion got Sean Penn in Kyiv, so he saw it all with his own eyes.
