US-leased MQ-9A Reaper drones arrive in Poland
MQ-9A Reaper drones, which will carry out reconnaissance on the country's eastern border, arrived in Poland on Sunday, 12 February.
This was reported by Mariusz Błaszczak, Polish Minister of Defense, writes European Pravda.
According to the Minister, MQ-9A Reaper drones of the MALE (Medium Altitude Long Endurance) class, leased from the USA as part of an urgent operational need, have arrived in Poland.
"They will serve in the Polish Air Force, in particular, conduct reconnaissance on our eastern border," Błaszczak tweeted.
He previously reported that Poland would use leased drones until it acquires its own UAVs.
The MQ-9 Reaper is an American drone used by the United States, Britain, France, Spain and Italy. The drone is equipped with a Honeywell TPE331-10 turboprop engine, thanks to which the UAV has a flight duration of 27 hours and the effective range up to 1,800 kilometres.
