Ukraine's National Guard explains step-by-step creation of Offensive Guard

As part of the formation of the Offensive Guard units, the National Guard brigades will first be manned and then deployed to one of the training grounds, where their training will begin.

Source: press service of Ukraine’s National Guard, citing Colonel Artem Illiukhin, Commander of the Rubizh (Frontier) 4th Rapid Reaction Brigade of the National Guard.

Quote: "As for the training of these brigades, first, these units are manned: a company, a battalion, etc. Then they are sent to one of the training grounds and training begins. It includes, in particular, single training of a soldier, that is, individual infantry training, and then training as part of a unit."

Details: The National Guard’s colonel noted that sergeants are starting their training simultaneously, same as experts who have been appointed to the positions of grenade launchers, machine gunners, snipers, etc.

After the individual training, which will last up to two weeks, the training as part of a squad will begin, which should end with combat firing of the squads, the colonel said.

This stage will end with tactical training of platoons with live fire. Then they will move on to the coordination of units as part of a company. After that, they will start coordination within the battalion.

According to Illiukhin, at the same time as the individual training, the first two weeks will see the start of training of the battalion's staff based on the decision-making system of NATO partner countries, taking into account the experience of combat missions in previous years and the experience gained after 24 February.

In addition, the representative of the National Guard said that preparations for offensive actions differ from those for defence. "All of this is included in the stages of training, starting with small tactical groups and ending with a platoon or company as part of a unit," he said.
