Explosions rock Kharkiv and Khmelnytskyi, air defence activated in Kyiv city, Poltava Oblast and west of Ukraine

Russian forces launched strikes on critical infrastructure of Kharkiv city as part of a large-scale missile attack on 10 February. Local authorities have also reported that there was an explosion in the city of Khmelnytskyi. Air defence systems have been activated and are operating in Kyiv and Poltava oblasts.

Quote from Terekhov: "There was another strike on Kharkiv's critical infrastructure at approximately 10:00. There may be shortages in electricity supply and other utility services today."

Details:  Kyiv City Military Administration noted that air defence has been activated in the oblast. 

Lunin reported on the work of air defence in Poltava Oblast.

In addition, Serhii Hamalii, Head of Khmelnytskyi Oblast Military Administration, has said that four missiles are on their way to the west of Ukraine. 

Later, the Suspilne media outlet stated that explosions had rocked Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi oblasts.  

Oleksandr Symchyshyn, Mayor of Khmelnytskyi, has confirmed that there was an explosion in the city and warned of possible power outages. 

Quote from Symchyshyn: "There was an explosion in Khmelnytskyi. Take care. All details will be reported later. There could be shortages with power supply and other utility services."

Hamalii has added that some areas of Khmelnytskyi are without power. There may also be disruptions in water supply.

Serhii Morhunov, Mayor of Vinnytsa, reported on his Telegram that air defence was activated in the city.

Heads of the Oblast Military Administrations have said that air defence is activated in Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv oblasts. 

Maksym Kozytskyi, Head of Lviv Oblast Military Administration, reports that there may be power outages in the oblast.

Explosions rocked Zhytomyr city as well. Vitalii Bunechko, Head of Zhytomyr Oblast Military Administration, said that local residents would hear loud explosions, but they are scheduled.

Belaruski Hajun, an independent Belarusian military monitoring media outlet, has reported that Russian fighter jet and reconnaissance aircraft landed at Machulishchy military airfield in Belarus at 10:20 and 10:24.
