Air Force destroys 5 Kalibrs and 5 Shahed drones, new missiles are on their way to Ukraine
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has destroyed five Kalibr missiles and five Shahed kamikaze drones used by Russia to attack Ukraine on 10 February. Russia launched new missiles from Tu-95 strategic bombers during the morning.

Quote from the Air Force: "On 10 February 2023, Russia attacked cities and critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine. Military assets and personnel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed five Kalibr cruise missiles and five Shahed-136/131 attack drones."
Details: The Air Force reported that in total, the Russians used seven Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones from the eastern coast of the Azov Sea and six Kalibr sea-based cruise missiles from a Russian frigate in the Black Sea against Ukraine.
The Russians also launched a massive attack with S-300 anti-aircraft missiles from the areas of the Russian city of Belgorod and the temporarily occupied city of Tokmak, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
The Russians launched up to 35 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles at Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. The Air Force notes that these missiles cannot be destroyed in the air by air defence systems.
At about 8:30, on 10 February, Russia launched new cruise missiles from Tu-95 strategic bomber jets.
Background:
- An air-raid siren was sounded throughout Ukraine on the morning of 10 February.
- Belaruski Hajun, an independent Belarusian military monitoring media outlet, reported that a long-range radar surveillance aircraft and a Mig-31K fighter jet that can carry Kinzhal hypersonic missiles had taken off in Belarus.
- Serhii Popko, Head of Kyiv City Military Administration, earlier reported that Russia had deployed several Tu-95 strategic bomber jets capable of carrying cruise missiles. He said there was a significant threat of a missile strike on Ukraine.
- Operational Command Pivden (South) reported that the Russians had deployed three missile carriers into the Black Sea, which could carry up to 20 Kalibr missiles.
