Quote: "Today was a fruitful day for our country; fruitful in confronting those who even now are trying to weaken Ukraine. We will not let anybody weaken our country. I am expressing my gratitude to all the law enforcement officers who demonstrated the power of law and our state today. I am thankful to the government of Ukraine for its prompt personnel response.

Specifically, the customs leadership was dismissed today. I was informed that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against some of those dismissed.

Unfortunately, this is the only way which can guarantee the rule of law in some sectors: dismissal of leadership along with implementing institutional changes. Implementing changes as long as needed so that officials do not get corrupt in their positions."

Details: The president added that on 1 February the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), the State Investigation Bureau of Ukraine, the Economic Security Bureau and the Prosecutor’s Office conducted dozens of searches and took other measures in different oblasts within the framework of open criminal proceedings.

Quote: "And regarding some individuals. I do not want to provide any comments which may be used by these individuals for their protection. But the public reaction shows that people support the actions of law enforcement officers. Therefore, we are definitely moving towards justice. Justice will take over.

The transparency of processes in the Defence Ministry and Defence Forces structures is especially important. Any internal supplies, any procurement must be totally transparent and honest, just like the external supplies for our defence. The one standing in the way of this transparency will be dismissed from these bodies."
