Spain to supply Ukraine with 20 APS M113 armoured combat vehicles
The Ministry of Defence of Spain will send 20 M113 armoured personnel carriers to Ukraine next Monday, 6 February as part of its military aid for resisting Russian aggression.

Margarita Robles, the Minister of Defence of Spain, first announced Spain's intention to provide Ukraine with these armoured personnel carriers last week.
Reportedly, Spain will also supply Ukraine with a few Leopard 2A4 combat tanks, from four to six pieces. Despite Spain having a large quantity of these tanks in service (over 300), the majority of them are in storage and unusable.
The Santa Bárbara company has started to urgently repair "half a dozen" of tanks to prepare them for shipment as quickly as possible.
Background: The possibility that Spain may provide Ukraine with M113 armoured personnel carriers was first announced last summer.
The Militarnyi military website reports that the M113 armoured personnel carrier is a main tracked armoured carrier used by the US army and many other armies of the world. This military equipment has been in service with the Portuguese army for 30 years.
