Air defence activated in occupied Mariupol
Air defence was activated in temporarily occupied Mariupol on the evening of 6 January; the occupiers have installed an air defence system very close to a newly built residential building in order to cover themselves with civilians.

Details: The advisor to the mayor reported that there was an explosion on Karpynskyi Street approximately at 16:20. Later, he clarified that the sound of the explosion was related to the operation of a Russian air defence system. He said that the Russian occupiers installed an air defence system very close to a newly built residential building and fired from there, covering themselves with civilians.
He added that there was an increased aircraft activity in Mariupol and Mariupol district on Friday, 7 January. In particular, "active entries of the aircraft" from the city of Yeysk (Russia) through Urzuf (Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine) towards Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Helicopters have been flying over the city of Mariupol all day, heading towards Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
