Ukraine’s Defence Forces repel Russian attacks near 12 settlements – General Staff report

The Defence Forces of Ukraine have repelled Russian attacks in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and also hit clusters of occupiers.

Quote: "The enemy is focusing its main efforts on attempts to establish control over Donetsk Oblast, conducting offensive operations on the Bakhmut and Lyman fronts.

They [Russian forces – ed] are trying to improve their tactical position on the Kupiansk and Avdiivka fronts, but have had no success."

Details: Over the course of the past 24 hours, the Russian occupiers launched 17 airstrikes and 59 attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS). In particular, civil infrastructure has been targeted. 

Over the course of the past 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have repelled Russian attacks near Stelmakhivka, Makiivka and Ploshchanka in Luhansk Oblast and Spirne, Soledar, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Kurdyumivka, Pervomaiske, Marinka and Pobeda in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Slobozhanshchyna front, the Russians deployed artillery and mortars to fire on areas in and around Strilecha, Staritsia, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Ustynivka and Fyholivka in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupiansk front, the settlements of Tavilzhanka, Dvorichna, Vilshana, Synkivka, Kupiansk, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Tabayivka, Krokhmalne and Berestove in Kharkiv Oblast and Kuzemivka, Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk Oblast came under Russian fire. 

On the Lyman front, Makiivka, Ploshchanka, Kuzmyne and Dibrova in Luhansk Oblast came under Russian fire. 

On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces fired at Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Berestove, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, Kurdyumivka, Dyliivka, Ozarianivka, Pivnichne, Mayorsk and New-York in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiivka front, Krasnohorivka, Avdiivka, Nevelske, Heorhiivka, Marinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast came under Russian fire. 

On the Novopavlivka front, Russian attacks were recorded in the vicinities of Mykilske, Vuhledar and Prechystivka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, Russian troops attacked the areas of the settlements of Vremivka, Zelene Pole and Novopil in Donetsk Oblast, Huliaipole, Dorozhnianka, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Charivne, Novodanylivka, Shcherbaky, Stepove and Prymorske in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

On the Kherson front, the Russians deployed artillery to fire on civilian infrastructure facilities in the city of Kherson and in Chornobaivka and Tokarivka. 

Due to the high effectiveness of the Defence Forces’ weapons in the city of Starobilsk, Luhansk Oblast, the Russians have strengthened their administrative and counterintelligence regimes.

"The occupiers are checking the mobile phones of residents. Special attention is paid to people whose lists contain numbers of subscribers of Ukrainian mobile operators," the General Staff said. 

The Ukrainian Air Force carried out 15 airstrikes on clusters of Russian forces as well as on three anti-aircraft missile system positions.

Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders shot down a Russian Su-25 aircraft and a Mi-8 helicopter.

Fighters from Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery targeted two clusters of Russian military personnel and military equipment.
