Ukrainian personnel to master Patriot systems as quickly as possible

Training of Ukrainian specialists to work with MIM-104 Patriot missile systems will be carried out in the shortest terms possible.

Quote: "Our specialists are also trained in the shortest possible terms.

If it is technically possible to bring them [Patriot air defence systems – ed.] to Ukraine and put them on combat duty, [then] to introduce them into the Air Force, and the specialists, of course, will be prepared by that time. The practice with the Iris-T and NASAMS proves this, as back then, personnel needed several weeks for training. Perhaps it would take a little longer than that to train on Patriot".

Details: Ihnat expressed hope that the process of updating the Ukrainian air defence system will continue.

The next step is the multi-purpose aircraft, without which it will be very difficult to withstand current challenges, the Air Force spokesman emphasised.

According to the colonel, the transfer of F-16 fighters to Ukraine will be a huge step towards Ukraine's victory.

Background: On 4 January, Dmytro Kuleba, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, said that U.S.-made Patriot system will be deployed in Ukraine as soon as possible. He added that preparations for the transfer of these systems have already started.
