Ukraine’s Defence Forces repel Russian attack near 10 settlements – General Staff report

Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled attacks from Russian occupiers near 10 settlements on 3 January.

Quote: "In the course of the past 24 hours, the enemy launched 7 missile and 18 air strikes, and performed 85 attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems, particularly on civil infrastructure in the cities of Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. There are casualties among the civilian population.

The threat of enemy air and missile strikes remains throughout Ukraine. 

The occupiers are concentrating their efforts on conducting offensive operations on the Bakhmut front and are making attempts to improve their tactical position on the Kupiansk, Lyman and Avdiivka fronts. The enemy is defending itself on the Novopavlivka, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts.

Over the past day, units from the Defence Forces repelled the attacks by the occupiers near the settlements of Stelmakhivka and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast), and Soledar, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, Maiorsk, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, Pobieda and Krasnohorivka (Donetsk Oblast)."

Details: There were no significant changes on the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts. The Russians are maintaining a military presence in the border areas, and no formation of Russian offensive groups has been detected. Russian attacked the settlements of Karpovychi, Leonivka and Hremiach (Chernihiv Oblast), Romashkove, Rozhkovychi (Sumy Oblast) and Strilecha, Krasne, Zelene, Ternova, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk, Ambarne (Kharkiv Oblast).

On the Kupiansk and Lyman fronts, the areas of over 15 settlements were attacked, including Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Kupiansk, Kotliarivka and Tabaivka (Kharkiv Oblast) and Makiivka, Ploshchanka, Dibrova (Luhansk Oblast).

On the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts, the areas of over 25 settlements came under fire, including Kramatorsk, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Vodiane and Marinka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Novopavlivka front, the invaders fired on Vremivka, Velyka Novosilka, Neskuchne, Vuhledar and Mykilske in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson front, areas of more than 25 settlements were affected. Russian forces continue attacking the civilian infrastructure of cities and towns along the right bank of the Dnipro River. Civil infrastructure facilities in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson were affected.

The Air Force of the Defence Forces of Ukraine carried out 12 strikes on clusters of Russian troops, as well as a strike on an anti-aircraft missile system position.

In addition, units of Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery struck two Russian command posts, five clusters of manpower and military equipment, an ammunition storage point and a UAV control post belonging to the Russians.
