It is too early to talk about liberation of Velykyi Potomkin Island in Kherson Oblast
The Ukrainian military has raised the national flag on the island of Velykyi Potomkin in Kherson Oblast, but it is still too early to talk about the liberation of the island.

Quote from Humeniuk: "The raising of the flag is a signal to the enemy that we are working, that the land is ours, and that this is all Ukraine. And it is also a reminder to them of the irreversibility of the processes we have planned. But it is too early to talk about liberation [of the island - ed.]."
Details: According to Humeniuk, statements from politicians or parliamentarians about the liberation of certain territories "can significantly affect the development of a further military operation".
"Please note that the military man was talking about the flag being raised, not about absolute liberation. You have to trust those who do it," Humeniuk concluded.
Background:
- Earlier, Oleksii Honcharenko, a parliamentarian of the European Solidarity party, reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated Velykyi Potomkin Island. He also shared a video of a defender raising a Ukrainian flag on the island.
- Officially, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not yet commented on the liberation of the island. However, according to UP sources among the military fighting in the south of Ukraine, the Russians were driven from the island of Velykyi Potomkin even before the New Year.
