Quote: "The occupiers continue to put psychological and physical pressure on the local population. As a result, they have blocked access to the plant for ZNPP employees who did not sign employment contracts, and for those who were forced to sign them, they [the occupiers] have announced salary reductions, citing the plant's inactivity."
Background: On 27 January, Energoatom, Ukraine’s national nuclear energy company, reported that the occupation "management" of the ZNPP was already violating the contracts’ terms that collaborators had signed with Rosatom, the Russian company that runs all nuclear power plants in Russia; for instance, the employees were deprived of their vacations.
On 7 January, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the occupiers forced about 3,000 ZNPP employees to receive Russian passports.
