Quote: "The crews are about to start their training in Britain. The heavy artillery systems crews are already training. Tankers will arrive soon as well."
Details: Prystaiko states that training will not take long since, as British instructors say Ukrainian troops are highly motivated and learn very quickly.
"It takes five weeks to train infantry here. We have trained 10,000 and have started to train 20,000 more since the beginning of the new year. It is hard to estimate how many tankers we will need to train. Moreover, they are also artillerists, mechanics, commanders," Prystaiko said.
"I think a month, a month and a half will be enough. If needed, training will be prolonged, as it was earlier," he added.
Prystaiko also stressed that the tanks are already being prepared to be sent to Ukraine.
"The tanks we are supposed to be supplied with are already being prepared to be sent to Ukraine," the ambassador revealed.
Background: On 14 January the British authorities officially confirmed that Ukraine will be supplied with Challenger 2 tanks. The UK Defence Secretary confirmed the supply of 14 tanks.
