17 people, including 4 children, killed in helicopter crash in Brovary

As of 14:00, rescue workers have reported that 17 people, including four children, were killed in the helicopter crash in Brovary.

Details: Rescue workers, police and local government continue to provide contradictory information.

Quote from the SES: "As of 14:00, 17 people have been found dead, including four children and nine people who were on board the helicopter. A total of 25 people have been injured (including 11 children) and have now been hospitalised (the information is being confirmed).

As of 12:30, the police reported that 16 people have been killed, including three children." 

Quote from Mariana Reva: "Currently, according to the information that has been confirmed at this time, 16 people have been killed due to this helicopter crash, including three children. In addition, 25 people are in medical facilities, being provided with qualified assistance. 10 of them are injured. Several people are in serious condition in intensive care".

Details: Currently, investigators from the National Police, Security Service and State Bureau of Investigation are continuing to work at the scene of the tragedy. The police are doing door-to-door rounds, interviewing witnesses. The law enforcement officers urge witnesses of the flight of the State Emergency Service’s helicopter to contact them and provide evidence.

  • A helicopter crash in Brovary, Kyiv Oblast, has killed the top leadership of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs: Denys Monastyrskyi, Minister of Internal Affairs, Yevhen Yenin, First Deputy Interior Minister, and Yurii Lubkovych, State Secretary of the Interior Ministry are among those killed. A total of 18 fatalities, including 3 children, have been reported.
  • Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Deputy Head of the President’s Office, has said that the helicopter crash in Brovary, Kyiv Oblast, occurred during the flight by Interior Minister Denys Monastyrskyi to one of Ukraine’s hotspots where fighting is ongoing.
