Source: Andrii Niebytov, Chief of the National Police in Kyiv Oblast, during a briefing near the scene, on air during the 24/7 national joint newscast
Quote: "It is too early to draw conclusions. Criminal proceedings have now been initiated, and investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, and the State Bureau of Investigation will continue their work. I can say one thing: there will be a very large amount of investigative work to find out all the circumstances.
However, we have a request to all of you and to the people who saw the helicopter fly over, we understand that it was flying at low altitude for a long period of time, so please contact the National Police on 102 [the police emergency telephone line – ed.] or local police. We will definitely visit you and record everything you saw. This is very important for an objective and comprehensive investigation."
Details: Niebytov emphasised that the cause of the helicopter crash could only be determined after the relevant examinations.
The pre-trial investigation has been entrusted to SSU investigators. The case is under the control of the Prosecutor General, Andrii Kostin.
