Propaganda hits rock bottom: Ukraine sends protest note to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus

The Ukrainian Embassy sent a note of protest to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus over a propaganda story on the Belarusian state television channel on the alleged recruitment of mercenaries for the war against Russia by the Embassy of Ukraine.

Quote: "I usually refrain from commenting on publications in the Belarusian state media regarding Ukraine, because anti-Ukrainian sentiments are over the top there, and I don’t have time to spare fighting ‘propaganda windmills', and frankly, it's a waste of time.

But I cannot refrain from commenting on the next 'rock bottom' of Belarusian propaganda, which was 'gifted' to an ordinary Belarusian viewer on 16 January 2022 by one of the most recognizable propagandists after August 2020, Kateryna Tikhomirova, on the BT channel, in her personal programme Katiushin Raschet ['Katyusha’s calculation'].

I will not recount the whole delusion of this story. I will say right away, the embassy has sent a corresponding note of protest to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus."

Details: In her propaganda story, the author claims that the embassy is a "recruitment centre" for sending "mercenaries" to Ukraine.

To "confirm" this, some Georgian, Georgy Zarakishvili, who is allegedly trying to get to Ukraine with the help of the Embassy in order to "fight" there, appears in the story and tells about it to the Belarusian special services, who detained him.

Ukraine's Ambassador believes that the Georgian's words about his desire to fight on the side of Ukraine are "the only truth in this story": "Everything else is lies, manipulations and hypocrisy."

The ambassador pointed out that the "author", for some reason, did not dare to tell about the hundreds of children killed by the Russian occupiers in Ukraine, or about the recent missile attack, when a Russian missile hit a residential building in Dnipro, where 44 people died (among them 5 children), and 20 people went missing.

He calls this delusion "another burst of anti-Ukrainian hysteria and a search for so-called 'compromising' materials for provocations" against the Embassy of Ukraine and its employees.

The ambassador also reminded the propagandist about the Russian mobilised troops who are currently undergoing training at Belarusian training grounds and who will go to fight on Ukrainian territories to kill Ukrainians.
