Belarusian media have published fresh satellite images of the Lepelsky training ground of the 19th Guards Mechanised Brigade in Vitebsk Oblast, taken by Planet Labs on 6 January.

Source: Belarusian edition of Radio Liberty, Belaruski Hajun military monitoring group

Details: Lepelsky training ground is one of the locations of soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces on the territory of Belarus.

On the pictures taken you can see a cluster of military equipment, at least 150 units: there are KamAZ and Ural trucks, infantry fighting vehicles (IFV), as well as T-72B3 tanks. Two field camps with the number of tents, about 50 units are also visible.

The Zaslonava railway station is located very close to the training ground, and two echelons with military equipment, which were standing at the station at that time, also got into the picture on 6 January.

The first picture shows 6 railcars (presumably passenger) and 31 flat wagons with equipment, the second shows 4 railcars and 11 flat wagons.

Next to the landfill there are also garages with another 7 to 10 units of vehicles, probably IFVs. It can be assumed that there is also equipment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the garages themselves.

Since October 2022, one of the groups of Russian soldiers, possibly mobilised, has been housed at the training ground.

In December, 13 T-72B3 tanks were transferred there from the Russian Federation.

Another confirmation of the presence of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation at this training ground is a sudden check of the combat readiness of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, which was carried out in mid-December, when the units of the 19th Guards Mechanised Brigade did not use their training ground for military drills, but went to another one.

On the training ground itself, military training is ongoing; it has been extended until 22 January.
