Zelenskyy announces active diplomacy that brings "defensive results"
This is an important week for Ukraine, with the upcoming World Economic Forum to be held in Davos (Switzerland) on 16-20 January and the meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group at the Ramstein air base in Germany on 20 January.

Details: Zelenskyy said he had spoken with Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands, for the third time on 16 January. The conversation took place just before the Dutch PM left for the US.
In addition, Zelenskyy had a meeting in Kyiv with Bujar Osmani, Chairperson-in-Office of the OSCE and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia. The President hopes that the OSCE will be able to provide assistance regarding the situation of Ukrainians being deported to Russia and obtain access to Ukrainian prisoners of war.

The Davos Forum will start its work – Ukraine will be heard at this globally important platform.
At the end of the week, a regular meeting in the Ramstein format will be held. We expect fundamental decisions from the coalition of our partners.
Important bilateral negotiations are also planned."
Details: Zelenskyy stated that every day of this "diplomatic marathon" brings Ukraine "quite specific defensive results".
"What happened in Dnipro, the fact that Russia is preparing a new attempt to seize the initiative in the war, the fact that the nature of hostilities at the front requires new decisions in the defence supply - all this only emphasises how important it is to coordinate our efforts - the efforts of all members of the coalition - to defend Ukraine and freedom. And to speed up decision-making," he stressed.
Zelenskyy noted that the United Kingdom, which announced a new package of defence assistance today, had set a good example.
"Exactly what we need. Tanks, other armoured vehicles, artillery - [exactly] what we discussed with Prime Minister [Rishi] Sunak. Thank you, Rishi, and thank you to every Briton for your tangible and timely support!" he said.
