Russian missile strike on house in Dnipro: EU debates how to respond to Kremlin’s signs of escalation
The EU regards the missile attack on a residential multi-storey building in Dnipro as a sign of escalation and is discussing its possible response.
Source: EU spokesman Peter Stano; European Pravda
Details: Stano called the attack brutal and inhuman.
Quote: "This is yet another example of how the Putin regime continues to fuel this conflict and the EU's position has always been to react to any signs of escalation. We are now seeing an increase in the targeting of civilians in their homes after Russia decided to target critical infrastructure that is crucial for people to survive the winter. This is another sign that the regime wants escalation and does not want de-escalation," Stano said.
According to him, the EU is particularly closely monitoring the situation in the light of the approaching anniversary of the Russian invasion.
Quote: "This issue will be discussed at the upcoming meeting of EU foreign ministers next Monday. However, any EU response must be agreed by the 27 member states", Stano noted.
"Discussions on how to respond to the ongoing aggression and what to do in response to the latest signs of escalation by the Kremlin are ongoing," he added.
As reported, the death toll in the missile attack on a high-rise building in Dnipro rose to 40 people, including three children.
