Ukraine’s Defence Forces repel Russian attacks near 14 settlements – General Staff report

Ukraine’s Defence Forces repelled Russian attacks near 14 settlements in 2 oblasts on 14 January.

Quote: "Over the past 24 hours, enemy forces carried out 3 airstrikes and 57 missile strikes, and also deployed multiple-launch rocket systems [MLRS] to conduct over 69 attacks [on Ukraine], including on civilian infrastructure.

The enemy used S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles in order to launch missile attacks on the capital and other settlements in Ukraine. 

They also launched 41 air- and sea-launched cruise missiles and guided air missiles which are high-precision weapons. Our defenders shot down 26 missiles."

"The enemy forces are not abandoning their intentions to capture the whole of Donetsk Oblast and are focusing their main efforts on the offensive on the Bakhmut front. They are also conducting offensives on the Lyman, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka fronts, as well as trying to improve their tactical position."

Details: Over the past day, units of Ukraine’s defence forces repelled Russian attacks near the settlements of Makiivka and Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast, and Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Sil, Soledar, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Novobakhmutivka, Krasnohorivka, Vodiane, Maiorsk and Marinka in Donetsk Oblast.

Areas in and around Vovkivka and Kindrativka in Sumy Oblast and Veterynarne, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Budarky, Strilecha, Ternova, Chuhunivka, Khatnie and Topoli in Kharkiv Oblast came under Russian mortar and artillery fire.

On the Kupiansk front, Russian forces fired on areas in and around Dvorichna, Zapadne, Synkivka, Orlianka, Kotliarivka, Berestove and Krokhmalne (Kharkiv Oblast), as well as  Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka (Luhansk Oblast).

On the Lyman front, Makiivka, Ploshchanka, Nevske, Kreminna, Dibrova and Chervonopopivka (Luhansk Oblast) came under Russian fire.

On the Bakhmut front, Spirne, Vyimka, Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka, Soledar, Paraskoviivka, Bakhmut, Vesele, Druzhba and Pivnichne (Donetsk Oblast) came under Russian attack.

On the Avdiivka front, Russian forces used tanks and rocket artillery to fire on Krasnohorivka, Vesele, Avdiivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Berdychi, Vodiane and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Novopavlivka front, the occupiers fired on Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva and Velyka Novosilka (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Zaporizhzhia front, Russian forces hit the areas in and around Malunivka, Huliaipole, Dorozhnianka, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Stepove and Plavni (Zaporizhzhia Oblast).

On the Kherson front, the invaders used tubed and rocket artillery to strike Kherson and Antonivka (Kherson Oblast), as well as Dmytrivka (Mykolaiv Oblast). There were casualties among civilians. 

The Russians keep suffering losses in their manpower every day. For example, on 12 January, approximately 50 wounded Russian soldiers who operated not far from Svatove were evacuated to temporarily occupied Starobilsk (Luhansk Oblast).

According to the information available, one of the tank battalions of the 26th Tank Regiment of the occupiers taking part in combat actions on the Kupiansk front has only 10 T-80BV tanks left, as of 12 January. The rest have either been destroyed or put out of action. As for manpower, the battalion has about 30 soldiers left.

The General Staff has also stated that Ukrainian aircraft carried out five strikes on clusters of Russian military manpower over the past day. An Orlan-20 UAV was also shot down. 

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery hit two command posts, nine clusters of manpower and military equipment, an ammunition storage point and an electronic warfare station belonging to the occupiers.
