Battles for Soledar continue – General Staff report
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported that the battles for Soledar, Donetsk Oblast, continue, despite the statement of the Russian Ministry of Defence about the alleged capture of the city.

Quote: "On the Bakhmut front, the Russians fired on Spirne, Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, Druzhba and Pivnichne in Donetsk Oblast. The battles for Soledar are ongoing."
Details: There were no significant changes on the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, no offensive groups of the Russians were detected. At the same time, the settlements of Ohirtseve, Vovchansk, Budarky, Mali Prokhody, Ternova, Bilyi Kolodiaz, Bolohivka, Dvorichna and Hryhorivka (Kharkiv Oblast) came under mortar and artillery fire.
On the Kupiansk front, the Russians fired on areas in and around Vilshana, Kupiansk, Orlianka, Kyslivka, Tabaivka, Berestove in Kharkiv Oblast and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk Oblast.
On the Lyman front, Makiivka, Nevske and Chervonopopivka in Luhansk Oblast came under Russian fire.
On the Avdiivka front, the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Avdiivka, Marinka, Berdychi, Vodiane and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk Oblast) came under Russian fire.
On the Novopavlivka front, the Russians fired on Vuhledar, Vremivka and Zolota Nyva in Donetsk Oblast.
On the Zaporizhzhia front, the Russians deployed tanks and artillery to fire on areas in and around Vilne Pole in Donetsk Oblast; Huliaipilske, Shevchenko, Charivne, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, Kamianske, Zelenyi Hai and Malynivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
On the Kheson front, the city of Kherson and its outskirts came under Russian fire.
In order to replenish the short-staffed medical personnel at Novotroitske Central District Hospital in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson Oblast, reinforcements from a number of military medics of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have arrived. As of 12 January 2023, up to 160 wounded occupiers were stationed in the hospital equipped as a military one.
During the day, Ukraine’s Air Force delivered nine strikes on clusters of Russian personnel; units of Rocket forces and Artillery struck one command post, six clusters of military personnel, one anti-aircraft missile system and three Russian ammunition storage points.
During the current 24 hours, the Russians carried out two missile strikes on civilian infrastructure in Kostiantynivka (Donetsk Oblast), as well as eight airstrikes on positions of Ukrainian troops. The Russians preformed more than 40 attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS).
