Details: It is reported that, in particular, the SSU conducted large-scale counter-sabotage training in the border areas of Rivne Oblast (Ukraine’s north). During these, the defence forces practised the neutralisation of hostile sabotage and reconnaissance groups, which, according to the scenario, tried to make a breakthrough through the northern border.
According to the scenario of the training, one of the hostile SRGs tried to break into a city, and the other group captured the Head and Chief Engineer of a local power facility, along with their families.
Using psychological pressure and threats of physical violence, the "perpetrators" tried to force the "victims" to cooperate with them.
The plan of "saboteurs" was to reconnect the operation of a local critical infrastructure facility in favour of the aggressor country.
The law enforcement officers, in cooperation with fighters of the SSU Alpha Group, neutralised the conditional hostile groups, released the "hostages" and prevented a possible man-made disaster.
Special tactical exercises were conducted in conditions as close as possible to real ones.
Units of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Police, the State Emergency Service, the National Guard, representatives of executive authorities and local self-government bodies participated in the trainings.
According to the evaluations of the coordination group, the participants of the exercises comprehensively worked out the algorithms of interagency interaction to prevent possible subversive threats in the border areas in Ukraine’s northwest.
