Russian Forces want to take control of the supply routes of Ukraine's Armed Forces; battle for Soledar continues
The invaders are trying to take control of the supply routes of the Ukrainian servicemen on the Bakhmut front. They also are trying to seize Soledar, and the fighting continues.

Quote: "The enemy is focusing its main efforts on attempts to completely capture Donetsk Oblast and is conducting offensive actions on the Bakhmut front. They [the Russians - ed.] are trying to take control of the city of Soledar and the supply routes of our units; they are suffering heavy losses, and the fighting is ongoing."
Details: Also, the occupiers are conducting unsuccessful offensive actions on the Avdiivka front. The occupiers are trying to improve their tactical position on the Kupiansk and Novopavlivsk fronts, and on the Lyman, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson fronts, they are on the defensive.
During the day, the occupiers launched two missile and 22 air strikes. They carried out 18 attacks from MLRS, in particular on civilian infrastructure. The threat of air and missile strikes on critical infrastructure facilities remains throughout Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Air Force carried out 13 strikes on the clusters of Russian manpower and three strikes on the positions of the Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.
In addition, Ukrainian defenders shot down a Russian Ka-52 helicopter and two reconnaissance UAVs, the type of which is being specified. The units of Rocket Forces and Artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit the Russian control point, four clusters of invaders' manpower and military equipment, as well as three ammunition storage points.
There are no significant changes on the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts. Belarus continues to back the Russian Federation's aggression by providing infrastructure to restore the combat capability of Russian forces. No signs of the formation of Russian offensive groups were detected.
At the same time, the Russian invaders do not stop shelling the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian facilities along the entire line of contact.
On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, the areas of Novovasylivka and Vovkivka settlements in Sumy Oblast, as well as Huriiv Kozachok, Strilecha, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk and Novomlynsk in Kharkiv Oblast, came under fire.
On the Kupiansk front, the invaders fired on the areas in and around Dvorichna, Kupiansk, Kyslivka, Krokhmalne, Berestov, Vyshneve, Pershotravneve, and Ivanivka settlements in Kharkiv Oblast and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk Oblast.
On the Lyman front, Terny in Kharkiv Oblast, as well as Makiivka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka and Dibrova in Luhansk Oblast, were shelled.
On the Bakhmut front, Spirne, Vyimka, Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora and Druzhba in Donetsk Oblast came under Russian fire.
On the Avdiivka front, Krasnohorivka, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Mariinka and Novomykhailivka of Donetsk Oblast came under fire.
On the Novopavlivka front, shelling was recorded in Vuhledar and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk Oblast.
On the Zaporizhzhia front, the areas of the settlements of Vilne Pole in Donetsk Oblast and Zelenyi Hai, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Bilohiria, Kamianske and Plavna in Zaporizhzhia came under fire.
On the Kherson front, the Russian forces do not stop terrorising the residents of the settlements along the right bank of the Dnipro River. Dudchany, Stepanivka, and Kherson came under fire from MLRS and tubed artillery.
In the settlements of the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson Oblast, the Russian invaders are intensifying security measures and checking the local population. Special attention is paid to mobile phones.
The overcrowding of medical institutions in temporarily occupied settlements with wounded Russian occupiers is intensifying. So, as of 9 January, 100 additional beds were deployed only in the Markivka local hospital in Luhansk Oblast.
According to available data, the Border Service of the Federal Security Service of Russia [FSB] enacted an order on 9 January of this year to ensure restrictions on travel abroad for citizens who are liable for military service.
