National Guards of Ukraine manage to shoot down cruise missile from light machine guns and assault rifles

National Guardsmen shot down a Kh-101 cruise missile from small arms during Russia's massive missile attack on Ukraine on 5 December.

Details: A rare incident occurred in daylight, as the missile flew at a low altitude.

A mobile fire group of the guards of the 27th Pechersk Brigade shot down the Kh-101 missile from light machine guns and assault rifles, preventing it from targeting its goal.

Firing crews of the National Guard are designed to counter air strikes, in particular to shoot down missiles and kamikaze drones.

In combination with the effective work of Air Defence units, this makes it possible to increase the rate of aerial targets downed and thus preserve infrastructure facilities and the lives of Ukrainian citizens.
