Fire at airfield in Kursk, Russia, authorities claim it is drone attack
A fire broke out at the airfield in the city of Kursk, the Russian Federation.

Quote: "An oil storage tank caught fire near the Kursk airfield as a result of a drone attack. There were no casualties. The fire is being contained. All special services are working at the scene."
Why it is important: Prior to the full-scale invasion by Russia, the Kursk Vostochny (East) airfield was used for both civilian and military aviation.
Since February 24, it has been subject to a ban on civilian flights.
The 14th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment of the Russian Federation is deployed in the Kursk Vostochny. It mainly consists of Su-30CM multirole fighter jets.
