Kyiv may return to scheduled blackouts relatively soon
The Kyiv City State Administration reported that Kyiv may switch to scheduled blackouts quite soon.
Petro Panteleiev, the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, stated this in the 24/7 newscast.
"We are hoping that quite soon we will be able to switch to hourly blackout schedules," – he said.
He added that full restoration of the energy system requires time but the situation is being gradually stabilised, which may allow returning to hourly blackout schedules.
"The good thing is, there were almost no blackouts last night. Now scheduled blackouts are ongoing again but their share is not that big – up to 25% of the city", Panteleiev added.
Background:
In the case of a complete lack of electricity due to Russian attacks on the city of Kyiv, the underground metro train traffic will be suspended and metro stations will be used as temporary accommodation points and air raid shelters.
