Missile attack: one person killed in Kyiv, 22 injured, buildings damaged

One person was killed in the city of Kyiv during a Russian missile attack on 31 December, reports Vitalii Klitschko, Mayor of Kyiv.

Details: An elderly man was killed in Kyiv, and the number of injured has risen to 20 people, including a journalist from Japan, reports Klitschko.

Update: In particular, the city suffered destruction in several areas:

  • in the Holosiivsky District, an outbuilding and a car were damaged;
  • Hotel Adler, a private residential building, was damaged in the Solomianskyi District;
  • in the Pechersk District, Russian missiles damaged the Alfavito Hotel, five floors were destroyed, and minor damage was caused to nearby buildings;
  • missile fragments were found on the street in the Dniprovskyi District.

Update: At 17:12, Kyiv City Military Administration clarified that one person had been killed and 21 people are known to have been injured. 

Seven missiles and a Russian UAV were destroyed on their approach to the city of Kyiv. 

Klitschko later reported that as a result of the Russian attack on the capital, one person was killed and 22 were injured.

15 casualties were hospitalised in medical facilities of the capital. Seven received medical assistance at the scene.
