Klitschko: 16 missiles downed over Kyiv

Air Defence Forces have destroyed 16 Russian missiles over Kyiv.

Quote: "According to the preliminary reports from the Air Defence Forces, 15 missiles have been destroyed over Kyiv."

Details: Several minutes later, Klitschko clarified that air defence forces had destroyed 16 missiles.  

Background:

• An air-raid siren has been sounding throughout Ukraine since 06:00, as Russia launched a large-scale missile attack on Ukraine.
• On the morning of 29 December, explosions rang out in Kharkiv, Odesa, Lviv and Kyiv.
• Kyiv City Military Administration reported that two private houses in Darnytsia district had been damaged by debris from downed missiles. An industrial business in Holosiivskyi district and a children's playground in Pechersk district also sustained damage. The Russian attack injured three people, among them a 14-year-old girl.
