Zelenskyy passes Command Coin from Biden to commander of HIMARS multiple rocket launcher battery

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, handed over a Command Coin to Captain Pavlo Cherniavskyi, commander of the HIMARS multiple rocket launcher battery; this is a response of US President Joseph Biden, who previously received Chernianskyi’s Cross of Military Merit from Zelenskyy.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "I have one duty from my visit to the United States, which I want to fulfil now. In this hall is Captain Pavlo Cherniavskyi, commander of the HIMARS multiple rocket launcher battery, who was awarded the Cross of Military Merit and who handed this award to the President of the United States of America, Biden.

It was an honour for me to fulfil this special mission. However, there is a second part. President Biden in return handed over a Command Coin, a special symbol from the President of the United States. Mr Captain, Pavlo, I would like to give you this Command Coin now.

Details: On 21 December, Volodymyr Zelenskyy handed to Joseph Biden a Cross of Military Merit award from Ukrainian Captain Pavlo, commander of the HIMARS battery, who received the award from the Ukrainian president in the city of Bakhmut the day before.

MP Oleksii Honcharenko also said that other servicemen were decorated in the Verkhovna Rada on 28 December. Pilot Vadym Voroshilov, better known by the call sign Karaya, was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine; Roman Kachur, a Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, captains, officers and soldiers were decorated as well.
