Details: Lecornu immediately went to the Wall of Remembrance [the memorial for the fallen heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian war] to lay a wreath on behalf of France, to pay tribute to the Ukrainian soldiers who died in battle, and to demonstrate France's support for Ukraine.
After that, the Minister will hold a working meeting with teams at Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence and the Ukrainian military regarding the military support of Ukraine from France, including what has already been provided and future support.
After that, he will hold a bilateral meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, after which a press briefing will be held.
Lecornu's visit to Kyiv comes several days after French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed the shipment of new French weapons to Ukraine and announced new supplies for 2023.
The planned shipments include CAESAR self-propelled artillery systems, but Macron did not announce their amount.
The fourth LRU multiple-launch rocket system from France arrived in Ukraine in late November.
